What to pack—and what to rent—for a trip with baby
A lighter suitcase starts with a plan. Keep daily essentials close and consider renting the bulky gear.

Start with your everyday routine
Think through a normal day: feeding, changing, naps, outings and bedtime. Write down what your child actually uses, rather than packing every possible accessory. Your destination, length of stay and access to laundry will shape the list.
Keep essentials with you
- Diapers, wipes and a changing mat for the journey, plus a buffer for delays.
- Feeding supplies, familiar food and any medication your child needs.
- Spare clothes for your child and a spare top for you.
- A familiar comfort item for supervised travel and awake time.
- Travel documents and your accommodation and provider contact details.
Keep critical items in your carry-on, not only in checked luggage. Check current airline and security rules for milk, food and liquids before flying.
Consider renting the bulky pieces
A stroller, crib or appropriate car seat can take up most of your luggage allowance. Compare the exact model, size, included accessories and rental dates before deciding what to leave behind. Ask your accommodation what it supplies; do not assume a crib or high chair is included.
Confirm before you leave anything at home
Ask the provider to confirm the item, dates, handoff location and full price, including delivery and collection. Tell them about stairs, limited storage or a late arrival. Keep a backup plan if the request has not been confirmed.
Make a simple arrival plan
Save your provider's contact information and agree who will receive the gear. Inspect it together on arrival and ask for the manufacturer's instructions. A Packless Baby request is not an instant booking or equipment reservation; availability and final pricing need confirmation.
